Thirtieth Invitation

What Is Your Theme for 2016??

2016!!! HELLO NEW YEAR!

Isn't it an amazing creation that we all agree on, this "New Year" thing?
It is rare when you can get so many people around the world to agree on the same thing -- but we have -- with the calendar!
And January 1st, worldwide, offers renewal and a time for re-alignment.

Ahhh...

It’s time to align our time and energy with what we truly value most in life.

I can't tell you how many times someone tells me that their family or friends are what is most important to them but they spend all their time at work. For me, actions speak louder than words. If you spend most of your time at work, then I say, your priority may truly be work! Maybe you want it to be family and friends but something else may be getting in the way that prevents that from truly being priority.
New Years Time is a great time to reassess what we put energy and time into and what we say we prioritize.

This re-set time is a great opportunity to match actions with the heart and truly live in alignment with our priorities.

Every year holds mystery of what is to unfold and what we are called to show up to!

We know certain things, like this year brings a new President and I turn 60 years old...

Whoa...

But then, there are the inevitable unexpected unfoldments... And the inner resources and toolkit we have matter when it comes to how present we can be to these surprises.

One way that I stay on track is through naming a personal theme each year. I love having a personal theme for the year. It becomes an invocation and an invitation and is a reminder throughout the year. It is more than an intention. It is an enlivened thought form that helps to shape the way I focus my energy and it propels me in the direction that I set forth for myself.

Discovering and naming the theme is an intimate process with myself -- and I usually spend some time on refining it. Last year I wanted more soul nurturance and soul food for myself but as I worked with it and it worked with me, it transformed into X-TRA TLC 4 ME! And, let me tell you, yum, that was a gr8 theme!!! (I wouldn't mind doing that one for the rest of my life!)

I suggest adding a body posture to the words of the theme. For X-TRA TLC 4 ME, I bring my arms around myself and rock back and forth in this big self-bear hug. Again, yum!!! Adding a body posture is a great way to embody the words and feel it even more powerfully. Last year I had a theme song. I don't always have one but it's really nice when it arises because then you have a song to sing to yourself all year long.

My theme song went like this
(sung to the tune of the song Stop, In the Name of Love by Diana Ross):

STOP, in the name of love
Before you give it away
Think it o-over

STOP, in the name of love
Do not neglect yourself
Think it o-over

STOP, in the name of love
Fulfill your own needs first
Think it o-over

STOP, in the name of love
Remember deva-joy!
Think it o-over

This year my personal theme started as Commitment to Shine! But then, I got scared of being tested by the Universe... "Can you shine through this?" So, I tried on, Bring the Highest Frequency Possible to Everything. But then, that felt too wordy. So, then it evolved into ~~Enjoy This! But then, I thought, "One can't enjoy everything...like a funeral for example." And so, I shifted it again to, Find the Beauty in everything. Then I refined that to Experience the Beauty. But then, that evolved into "Ah, this moment...." And that is where I landed for this year; it holds the possibility and invitation to shine, to remember to bring the highest frequency possible, to enjoy, and to find and experience the beauty while being present to the preciousness of this, right here and now... So, here I grow, into AHHHH, THIS MOMENT...

What is YOUR personal theme?

Please take time to ask your inner guidance about your personal theme, to receive direction, to work it and to name it for yourself -- and then to share it with all of us on this blog with either your name or anonymously but share it nonetheless... It will be fun to read and be nurtured by each other's themes.

Here we grow, beautimus community of kindred spirits...

2016!

Lovefully,

Devajoy

  2. After a similarly long deliberation [and a little help from my Beloved Partner :)], I've found a theme for 2016 that really resonates with me: "How can I apply the Wisdom already within me to THIS moment?" However it has come to pass, I am graced within a sometimes amazing (at least to me!) abundance of "inner wisdom.” In fact, it’s become (sometimes painfully) obvious to me that the vast majority of my suffering as a human being is not due to any "lack of wisdom," but simply to forgetting (or forgetting HOW) to ACCESS that wisdom and APPLY it "where the rubber hits the road."

I so often find myself thinking some version of "Geez, If I just applied 1% of the Wisdom thats already here in my heart to my everyday life, I'd be a MUCH happier version of Tony Rooney..."

So... this year I'm aiming to make it a habit to remind myself to ACCESS and APPLY what I already know in my heart whenever I notice myself feeling contracted and/or caught up in fear/anger/numbness.

[And one bit of that awesome wisdom I have access to right now in this regard is to know not to waste time and energy indulging self-reproach whenever Tony Rooney FORGETS to put his wonderful new theme into practice this year! :)]
