December 2016 Newsletter Whoa!  December 2016!  Isn't it intense?!  Time truly does fly!  Whether we are having fun or not! Time is It!  And "IT" is always happening, just like breathing!   And this "Time" is intense -- as we watch the President-elect choose his cabinet appointees and getting a true sense of what we will be confronting in 2017 to 2020.  With all that is on -- with challenges to human rights and the plight of wildlife and sacred land violated with drilling, fracking, coal, pipelines -- it is time to be fiercely alive and awake, to not go into denial, to take actions, (even if they appear small), to fight the fight, to be proactive, to be engaged, to be involved, to be with kindred spirits -- community and tribe. One thing is one hundred percent clear to me -- it is a time that we MUST reach super deep within and keep the light alive and radiating out...   We will all go through what we go through -- anger, tears, despair, rage, numbing, denial, sadness, grief, more rage... waves of feelings...  What is most true is that as we allow feelings to arise and move through us, it is also essential that we nurture and protect our inner lives and our sense of the Sacred. May we not waiver in our ability to love and show up for ourselves and each other.  It is important to be warriors for our inner sanctums so that nothing, absolutely nothing, takes away our love for life.  So even when it seems really dark, this is exactly the time that we need to be even more vigilant and more valiant to shine! As we approach the closing of this year, with all that it has been for each of us individually and for our collective -- and as we prepare to say goodbye to our eight years with President Obama, what stands out for you about this year?  How have you grown this year?  What makes itself known to you as precious, amazing and empowering?  What remains with you as regret and sorrow and loss? If you could tune into a sense of Mystery about your life, and let go of preconceived notions on what your life is supposed to be like, and you invite yourself to just truly embrace it as it is, what releases within you?  What rises within you?  And how do you land even deeper inside of yourself?   With the beginning of the new year upon us, it is a perfect opportunity to clarify a personal theme for yourself for 2017.  A personal theme serves as a guiding principle for how you want to grow yourself. A personal theme arises from within you as a YES, that's it! -- this will be my next focus on evolving as me!  A personal theme gives an intentional lens to see through.  A personal theme is an invitation to yourself to flourish and say "YES" to yourself!  Some examples of personal themes from Tribe are "Knowing My-self, Loving My-self". "Coming from Love" "Ahhh, this Present Moment" "Leap Grasshopper Leap " "Grounding into Lushness" "Listening and Discerning" "Seeing the Blue between the Clouds" "Turning Inward" "Going Out Loud" etc.    The theme that comes to you helps to shape your growth. It's like putting a stake in the ground to help direct a plant's growth into a certain direction -- that is exactly what a personal theme does for the inner evolution.  So, ask your inner guidance for the right personal theme to show itself to you.  Practice listening...  Remember, you can certainly refine it as you go. Once you receive your personal theme, shamelessly claim it, write it, bring your body into a posture that expresses it, use it as a daily invocation when you enter into 2017 and allow it to fuel your inner light.     Radiating our light is not a luxury -- it is a MUST for this time to come -- it is our responsibility (ability to respond) to be fiercely bright, based on essence not life circumstances!
