Pinot for the Soul
My sister Donna has adopted a new little puppy named Pinot. "Pinot The Adorable" as my nephew Josh calls her. Pinot's utter cuddly-every-moment-preciousness is literally breathing life into her home, returning it to the love vibration it always held, transforming the intolerable emptiness into something familiar and home coming. Thus, I call her "Pinot for the Soul!" I can feel my sister being restored in every aspect of her being as Pinot lays belly up on her lap.
So it is with life -- for all of us.
Losses and pervading impermanence intermingles with endless love, which reveals in new surprising forms.
At the close of this year, we face what life has brought us or taken away from us in these last twelve months.
We gather our resources and gratitude
for what is true for us today.
And we plant seeds for what we would like to see occur
in the new year.
Such is our ritual each and every year.
Privileged to be close to many people, I witness how there is always "the good and the bad".
Love for life includes it all -- because it is what is so.
In life there appears to be births, creativity, sustenance, decline, descent and death and simultaneous birth, creative flow and death. I witness people having break throughs, coming into ourselves as never before, honoring passions, manifesting visions, facing and claiming neglected and hidden aspects of self, setting boundaries for the first time, deepening in self-care, saying "Yes" to what is real and true to ourselves.
We also stare into the losses and changes of the year.
Yet, more powerful than even the depth of exhaustion and
heartache is the triumphant Spirit that greets each day with perseverance and love.
Each year unfolds wounds from losses and also the discovery of the gifts of the wound. Life's experiences bring us into heart break and even more potently, awareness of a sense of presence that can never be taken away.
Time shatters us, exalts us, splinters us, heals us, re-arranges us and ultimately returns us again and again to a core of self that cannot be stripped away.
Love remains even when forms change.
May we all find our own "Pinot for the Soul" and drink deep.
I cannot imagine a more eloquent and perfect way to summarize the vastness, beauty, tragedy, and loss of this past year, of any year. Thank you for your deep words of wisdom, Devajoy; they feel channeled from somewhere in timeless time. I love you with all of me as we enter into the new year, breathing the same air together. With gratitude for more than I can ever express, Uria and John and Karma
"Love remains even though form changes". Your wisdom flow always unites us. May we each claim our triumphant Spirit, celebrating the endless possibilities of Divine Orchestration. We are One.
